Nick Dolan (ASCAP) is an innovative and energetic composer whose experience and abilities include working as an arranger, songwriter, music editor, copyist, conductor, and orchestrator. Nick's solid work ethic, along with his substantial understanding of the filmmaking process and driving passion for creativity, has allowed him to collaborate on many different genres of film. Nick Dolan is always expanding his musical capacity.
Background:
Nick Dolan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. At the early age of 10, he picked up the guitar and formed his first band by the age of 13. By the end of his high school career he had created and participated in more than 5 bands, playing rock, funk, acoustic rock, and metal. Nick also played in the high school Big Band Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Guitar Ensemble, and sang in the high school Men’s Choir. Nick then spent a year studying music, playing in jazz ensembles, and singing in the Concert Choir at the University of Oregon. After that year, he left Oregon to study Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music. Nick has studied under such notable composers and professionals as J. Eric Schmidt, Claudio Ragazzi, Richard Davis, Sheldon Mirowitz, Eric Reasoner, Dennis LeClaire, Arnold Friedman, Carmen Moral, Tibor Pusztai, Daniel Ian Smith, Jack Perricone, and many others. In 2010, Nick had the great privilege of interning for Paramount Pictures, developing a music library and re-scoring an old 1930's cartoon: The Fresh Vegetable Mystery. Nick graduated from Berklee with honors, with a B.M. in Film Scoring in 2011.
