This week was the 10th anniversary of the passing of film and TV composer Jerry Goldsmith, and on Monday I wrote a little post to take a short look at his incredible career. After remembering all the great music he had written, I wanted to put together a little list of my favorite Goldsmith scores (in no particular order).
Today marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of Jerry Goldsmith, truly one of the greatest film composers of all time. Jerry brought us some of the most iconic scores in film and television history, including Planet of the Apes, Patton, Chinatown, The Omen, Alien, Poltergeist, Rudy, The Mummy, Rambo, Star Trek, and the list goes on and on. When I was studying Film Scoring at Berklee, I was constantly in aw of Jerry's musical vocabulary - whether a modern film composer is aware of it or not, I would be willing to bet that they have been influenced in one way or another by Goldsmith's music.
As you may or may not know, I'm currently running a design contest from my website. Sunday was the launch date and the contest has already started generating some buzz. It seems like so far there are some people who are excited about it (I know I am), however today I learned about one reason some people might not be so excited about it.
