FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Will I work directly with Nick, or with some other coach? All coaching sessions, evaluations, and feedback are provided by Nick.
-
Who are these coaching programs designed for? These coaching programs are designed for all K-12 choir directors and general music educators who want to create clear, effective teaching plans, refine their instructional techniques, and boost student outcomes. Whether you're an experienced teacher looking for a fresh approach or a newer educator seeking structure, these programs provide expert guidance, personalized support, and actionable deliverables.
-
How long do the programs take to complete? Each program runs for 5 weeks, which includes a free consultation week and four weeks of guided work. During this time, you'll complete reflection activities, develop curricular materials, and receive weekly 1:1 coaching calls for personalized support and guidance.
-
What do I get by the end of the program? Each program has its own specific deliverable: Curriculum Clarity: A comprehensive curriculum document that outlines what you will teach, why it matters, and how it connects to student performance. Sequence for Success: A complete Scope & Sequence plan with a clear, step-by-step flow of concepts for your semester, year, or multi-year program. Top Tier Teaching: A refined pedagogical approach built around your personal teaching philosophy and strategies that improve student engagement, supported by reflection on teaching video analysis.
-
What is the time commitment each week? It's entirely up to you, but you do get out what you put in. Clients should expect to dedicate 1-2 hours per week to reflection, resource creation, and lesson planning. Each week includes a 60-minute live coaching session where you receive direct support, ask questions, and review progress toward your goal.
-
What happens if I can’t attend a coaching session?Due to the short timeframe of the programs and the amount of time I put in to ensure all of my clients meet their goals, I am currently unable to reschedule coaching sessions. However, we can check in via email and I will evaluate your progress that week without a meeting.
-
Can I join more than one program at the same time? It's not recommended that you join more than one program at the same time. Top Tier Teaching requires that you know what you are teaching (discussed in Curriculum Clarity) and have a scope and sequence in place (discussed in Sequence for Success). Similarly, Sequence for Success requires that you have a curriculum in place already.
-
Is this a group program or 1:1 coaching? These are 1:1 coaching programs, which means you receive personalized attention and support tailored to your specific goals. Each week, you’ll meet with Nick for live feedback, reflection, and guidance on your deliverables.
